Me and Anthony Sedlak at CATCH: The Nova Scotia Seafood Festival
I am still reeling from the news that Anthony Sedlak has passed away. I am in total shock. When I met Anthony two years ago I thought he had to be one of the healthiest and hippest guys I had ever met. He was a genius with food, I loved watching his show and he was my first interview ever. I spent weeks up late at night, unable to sleep because I was terrified I was going to make an ass out of myself when I interviewed him.
He was a total gentlemen and such a sweetheart. He made me feel so at home and comfortable talking about food with him. After his demo I wanted to buy his book but he insisted on giving me a free copy. Absolutely refused to let me pay.

Thank you Anthony for all your foodie inspiration and helping me embrace not only food but my food blogging journey. You were a force of nature in the kitchen and will be missed by so many.

Yeah, what a shock, eh? The CBC website just says he had an “undiagnosed medical problem.” He was much, much too young to leave so soon!

I am in shock. He was one of my favorite Chef in Canada. I’m so glad I have his cookbook.

Debra, that is what most sites are saying. It is a total mystery and feels so wrong. Helene, I’m in shock too. Such a sweetheart. So glad you have his cookbook too.

So sad and shocking, I couldn’t believe it! He was so genuinely enthusiastic, and such a charming guy. A deep loss to the culinary world.
