I was super excited when I heard that Tim Hortons wanted to deliver their 2017 holiday beverages and treats to my door! They came yesterday morning as I was in the middle of baking bread (of course) so I got to have a bite and sip of EVERYTHING for breakfast. I know, poor me, but someone has to do it.
Inside The Box!
I got to indulge in TWO hot beverages and FOUR desserts. OMG, seriously? It was awesome.
Baked Goods
The baked goods in the box was a stunning mixture of donuts, muffin and pastry.
Where to start?! I all looked so good!
Snowflake Donut
The one that caught my eye immediately because it is just so damn pretty was the snowflake donut. This is all about vanilla fluff, fondant and sprinkles. You gotta be a big fan of vanilla to like this one.
It may bore some foodies to be so one note but you get the lovely donut melting in your mouth, covered with the liquidness of icing and finished by the crunchiness of the sprinkles. With a big dollop of icing in the centre, this is a texture-foodie’s dream dessert.
Strawberry Cheesecake Mini Strudel
Have I mentioned just how much I love pastries? And strudel is the king of pastry! Strawberry is always one of my favourite flavours so… Yup, this one is a total winner for me. Especially because of its wee little size. Tasted absolutely fresh and delicious. I wanted more.
Chocolate Cheesecake Donut
Topped with red and white chocolate curls and a white fondant drizzle… This donut is totally different than your average chocolate donut. Cheesecake filling inside a chocolate donut? If you love chocolate and cheesecake, you have to try this one. It is not my particular favourite but I know a certain someone who would LOVE this one.
Raspberry Cheesecake Muffin
You know, this muffin is so delicious with its beautiful raspberry flavour and damn does Tim Hortons know how to make muffins… I found that the cheesecake filling was not really all that necessary. Is it delicious? Yes. Just a little too much for me but then I think at this point I was a little done with all the cheesecake fillings. Fantastic though. What a treat.
Wait! There Is More!
You can not talk about Tim Hortons without talking about the beverages of course…
Peppermint Mocha Latte
The lovely woman who hand-delivered these goodies to me did warn me that the peppermint mocha latte had caffeine, which was so considerate. Made with 100% Canadian milk and freshly ground espresso beans… Well, to be honest, they had me at mocha latte. Where I kind of lost keenness was with the peppermint.
I am not a fan of mint. I wish I was because it is everywhere this time of year. I braced myself for a mint-perfumed caffeinated hit when I took a sip of their peppermint mocha latte and was shocked. I could barely taste the mint! It was so subtle I asked Reg to taste it to make sure they had not forgotten it. He said it was there but barely. So… I LOVED this drink! The peppermint just gave me a little holiday flare without closing up my wind pipe. I seem to be slightly allergic to it.
Peppermint Hot Chocolate
OMG, another peppermint drink?! Why?!!! Why not eggnog? Nutmet? Chestnut? Hazelnut? Anything but peppermint…
Again… Shock! Serious restraint with the peppermint flavouring so it was just a hint of cool Christmasy-ness as I enjoyed this chocolate beverage. Again, Reg taste tested it and yes, it was there but again, very subtle. I was thrilled!
Foodie Conclusion
I love that there is a holiday treat for just about everyone this year at Tim Hortons. Whether you are more partial to pastry or want a chocolate donut hit… There is a little creamy treat and surprise for you in every baked good. When it comes to drinks, if you are addicted to mint keep in mind the mocha latte and hot chocolate may be a little subtle for you. As a result, you may want an extra pump of peppermint flavouring.
Thank you Tim Hortons for letting me taste test all these holiday treats for my foodie friends out there! The holiday season is upon us and treats are becoming a part of our lives (and my stomach). Extra workout ahead for me but I am happy to be your dedicated foodie reporter and let you know what is new out there in the holiday foodie world.

No fan of mint either, but the rest… I want!

I was starting to think it was just me that isn’t a fan, thanks for letting me know I am not alone Chris! Thanks for checking out the review. 🙂

I do like mint but I get that it’s not for everyone. Boy, we can see Canada outside our window, where I live but our Timmy’s doesn’t have ANYTHING as nice as yours. Not even close. Tim would be soooo jealous if he saw how could your location looks. Just lovely bakes. Lovely.
Suzie the Foodie says
What a shame! I wonder why Timmy’s in the U.S. is so different than here? Everything was super-fresh and fantastic. I love that you are such a close neighbour to us.

Not sure but we get Canadians in each weekend. Maybe Horton’s was better when it was still in Canada before BK bought it. I am with Debra on the sweet. Just tooooo sweet for me. But I love the simple snowflake doughnut idea.
Suzie the Foodie says
I knew there was a foodie out there who could appreciate that snowflake donut!

I love me some snowflakes !!!!

What I’m about to say is heresy but . . . I find that Tim Horton’s donuts are just TOO sweet for me. These ones look even MORE sweet. But I do love their little strudel bites, both because they’re not as sweet and also because — how can you beat 3 for 50 cents? So I will definitely try the new strawberry cheesecake mini-strudel.
I like their 2017 seasonal cups “thick woollen socks” design too!
Suzie the Foodie says
Yes, I would say these are very sweet and all that cream cheese filling… These are definitely just for the holidays for that something “extra special”. No way! That’s an unbelievable deal, I had no idea. Sadly I have no Tim Hortons’ near me. I live in a Timmy’s “dead zone” so this was a huge treat. I was hoping those wool coffee cup socks would be included… Oh well!
@the_happy_whisk says
Wow. None near you? Before BK got a hold of them, we had four already here. One just up the mountain. That one has the best seating but the worst food. The one in town, has the worst seating but better food than on the hill. It’s so weird because the two are not far from each other.
Suzie the Foodie says
I had three in walking distance out east. They rule the east coast of Canada.

Thanks for the great reviews Suzie. I look fly to trying some of these

My pleasure Jane, enjoy! I hope my review helped.

So envious I can’t try these. We of course don’t have this chain in Britain, and, even if we did,I doubt it would get to this little outpost. Heck, WE don’t even have a Crispy Creme Doughnut shop……
Suzie the Foodie says
Linda, are donuts not a big thing in Britain? I know they’re a huge deal here in North America. Personally I am more of a tea biscuit foodie, LOL.
