Chuck Hughes is back in Nova Scotia at the Taste of Nova Scotia Festival! He demoed five recipes at the CATCH Seafood Stage this afternoon.
I interviewed Chuck last time he was here in 2010. It was so amazing to see him performing and cooking live again. Chuck is thoroughly entertaining!
Oh I just missed Chuck lifting his apron up and pretending to flash everyone! Which is what everyone is laughing at when the video starts.
Here you can see Chuck get a nice welcome to Nova Scotia greeting and hear about what he will be preparing in his demo.
Chuck had a great crew behind the scenes taking care of a lot of prep so he could entertain us with his stories. Together they rocked the demo out of the park.
I was thrilled to hear that Chuck has a new show coming about where he travels the world and eats food. My god, my total dream job. Love it! I will live vicariously through him, ingesting far fewer calories.
Here is a little taste of the Cured Beet Salmon demo. Could not cover the festival without showing off his culinary prowess and creative foodie ideas.
Chuck gives a lesson is scallop shucking! Not the prettiest demo in the world but very helpful.
Chuck discusses another new show of his coming out called Chuck Eats the Street and also discusses how the show Chuck’s Day Off has changed his life forever. Seriously inspiring.
This demo shows us how to make deep fried crab and ricotta stuffed zucchini flowers. Oh man, I want to try those! Guess I have to grow some zucchini.
A few confessions from Chuck about poutine. Love his sense of humour!
I really wish they were selling Chuck’s cookbook Garde Manger. I would have loved to get a signed copy from him!
You lucky people who brought your copies downtown to be signed and get a chance to speak with Chuck. I am so jealous!
I got a bit sun-scorched but who cares?! I got to see Chuck Hughes in person from the front row! I could not have been a happier foodie.
More coverage of Taste of Nova Scotia to come! Including me dressing up as a pirate. Again!

The front row! You’re such a keener! Glad you had fun.

I loved the blog post – thank you for adding videos! I snapped a tonne of photos from the Propeller side of the barrier in front of the stage.

Big time keener Debra!
Doglove, thank you! So glad you enjoyed the post and wow, can’t remember which side that was but am glad to hear you got a ton of photos too. Chuck looked great, didn’t he? Was lots of fun to watch and listen to.
I do which they had a tent though. I got all sunburned even with my sunscreen on!

The Propeller side (where they sold the drink tickets) was to your left.
It would be on the other side of the barrier seen here:

If you saw Chuck making faces while eating a pear, I got a hilarious photo of it – posted on Taste of Nova Scotia’s FB page (and my profile photo now has me with Chuck, my dream husband, lol!).

Oh I was on the other side in front of the stage. He was funny talking to that guy who he met last time he was there. Totally missed the pear-eating moment. Nice choice for profile photo! I would have done that too.
