We have come to the last of the pretty packages from President’s Choice! Oh how bittersweet. It has been so much fun and truly put me in the holiday spirit.
They have done it again with another sugar and artificial flavour and colour-free sparkling juice! I got to sample the PC 100% Sparkling Fruit Juice Kiwi Berry and could not get over the rich colour and the wild all-natural flavour. Amazing that one little can delivers two servings of fruit and 100% of your daily requirement of Vitamin C.
But just as I wrote in my review of their orange tangerine sparkling juice, it is hard for me to justify spending $3 on four 250 mL cans. I definitely would do so during the holidays for a treat. Great for the non alcohol-drinking guest. My family loves to put drinks in stockings so this would make a great stuffer in my home. Taking everything including price into account, I give this product four out of five wooden spoons.
Their PC Premium Fruit & Nut Collection was a re-invention of the nut-and-fruit carousel and I think they did a great job. I buy bulk nuts from Superstore all the time and I can tell you, you are getting amazing value in this $10 product. I love that there are both milk and dark chocolate covered almonds but I am not entirely sure they are actually roasted. My husband can not eat raw almonds and he ate these and ended up having a reaction which normally would not happen with roasted almonds. I was surprised that the nut mix was not very salted, had very little flavour but it did have the biggest golden raisins I have ever seen in my entire life. I give this product three and a half out of five wooden spoons.
According to the Insider’s Report, this is “the lasagna you asked for!” I had an envelope with a $10 gift card in it which I forgot to use when I went shopping, LOL, but did end up coming home with a PC Our Best Ever Meat Lasagna With Fire-Roasted Tomato Sauce. The idea is it is a more truly traditional lasagna with 50% more meat than their regular lasagna.
It is a great size of a lasagna for our household. Either we get one that barely feeds us or one that is so big there is way too much leftover. It is 3 lbs of meat, pasta, sauce and cheese and it fed me and my husband with some leftovers. I do disagree though that it is big enough for six servings.
I would not disagree that there is a more meaty flavour than their other lasagnas. Not only is there more meat, the meat is super flavourful and the texture and quality impressive. My husbands loved this lasagna! Me? I am not so much into meat as I am into sauce and cheese which I personally could barely taste. This is a meat-lovers lasagna. If you love meat, I give this product four out of five wooden spoons. I just wish I could have tasted more cheese and sauce!
I do appreciate that this lasagna was piping hot after following the cooking directions. It takes a long time to cook a frozen lasagna and there is nothing more disappointing than properly following the instructions only to end up with a cold meal.
So that concludes the massive holiday gift giving from President’s Choice! It was a lot of fun and such an honour to be chosen as one of their product reviewers for this generous holiday season of foodie treats. I hope I did a good job testing out the food and giving my honest opinions on the products. Overall I was very pleased with everything I tried. I know my friends were so impressed by some of the food they got to sample they have gone back to the store for more. As I will also be doing!

I was not a fan of the kiwi sparkling drink at all. Too medicinal and yes, too expensive! That lasagna looks pretty good though and I know that fruit and nut collection is good because I jut finished off the one people brought over on the weekend! Thanks for your honest reviews of these products over the past few weeks.
Aw….no more PC products! I’ve really liked reading what you think of these products. I’m a Superstore fan, and look forward to the new products every holiday season…but I often only try a few of the items. I feel like i am better prepared for my next trip to town to the superstore! I’ll be getting some of those drinks because I’ve had the mango ones and loved them!

So glad you enjoyed the reviews! The kiwi drink is very strong, it’s true. Just had the lasagna for dinner, when it gets reheated the sauce disappears completely, what a bummer! Glad I could help prepare you for holiday food buying. I’m usually very conservative in what I buy but I was very impressed this year.
