Giveaway: Out of Old Nova Scotia Kitchens

I thought I would end this week with a giveaway for my foodie friends. Here you have Out of Old Nova Scotia Kitchens graciously donated by Nimbus Publishing for my blog’s month-long birthday celebration!

Out of Old Nova Scotia Kitchens Sally Lunns

I had an amazing time testing the recipes for this cookbook’s review and enjoyed the book so much I bought many as Christmas presents last year.

RULES

  1. This contest is open to anyone, anywhere. Woohoo!
  2. You absolutely MUST leave contact information if you do not have a blog or a profile with your email address associated with it. I can not tell you how many people I have had to disqualify for not doing so. Leave your email please, just to be safe!
  3. Tell me why this cookbook would go great in your kitchen. Do you want to time travel through food? Have you always been curious about the Maritimes? Did you grow up here and are homesick???
  4. It would be great if you could also consider following my blog. The more followers I have, the more companies want me to do giveaways!

Winner will be announced Monday but comments will be closed sometime on Sunday so comment right away to make sure you get your name in the hat!

Good luck everyone!

Hi Suzie, I would love to win; because I love to cook. I am always looking at new ways to create good food for my family. I love introducing them to different cultures so that they won’t be narrow minded or afraid to try things. I have seen the wonderful things you cook and I would love to learn how to make some of the delicious food I see you post and bring that into my own kitchen. I think you are amazing Suzie, keep being just the way you are. tigger231975_1999@yahoo.com xoxo Yvonne

    I follow already 🙂

I would love this cookbook! Growing up in the Annapolis Valley with a lot of old school women in the family that could cook up a mean dinner out of anything. I’m sure that there will be some familiar recipes inside.

This looks very interesting. I’m always curious as to what my fellow Canadians were (are)cooking in their part of this vast country.

Susie,I might not have grown up in the Maritimes, but definitely have a soft spot for this part of our vast country. We spent countless pleasurable vacations on the east coast when our kids were growing up. There is no better place to get away from it all….slower pace of life and fantastic people! Would love to try the recipes from this book.

    Hi Suzie ,

    Nice giveaway !!!!
It would be kewl to own an item like this one so I could refer to it if a fellow foodie was looking for a paticular recipe and couldn’t find it like the last one I passed on to you to pass on to your elderly friend. Helping each other out makes for a better community.

I love cookbooks that have historical stories behind the recipes. There’s something about the way things were done “back then.” Maybe I’m still clinging to memories of a past life but I feel very nostaligic when I see pictures like the one on the cover, cooking over the wood stove with a kettle hanging over the fireplace. So comforting.

Great final giveaway Suzie! I’m a bit of a cookbook collector, so I would love to add this to my library. I’m always looking for new things to try when entertaining guests and it would be great to make local recipes for out-of-towners.

    Thanks!

I grew up with this book in my parents’ kitchen and it was lovingly used for many of its recipes over the years. Would love to have a copy for my own kitchen! Using tried and true traditional recipes is sometimes as much fun as experimenting! tammihayne [at] gmail [dot] com.

I started reading your blog a few weeks ago and greatly enjoy it!
I grew up in NS and moved to Vancouver with my now husband 5 years ago. I would love to win this book so I can cook for my friends and family a little taste of my home and because this book gives me memories of my mom cooking from the older version of this book when I was just a child.

The Honorable Allan J. MacEachen gave an old copy of this to my mother two years ago so that she could make the old fashioned griddle cakes when he comes by for tea and a “sweetum” on occasion. I have been looking for a copy ever since. It is tough to recreate the tastes of my youth here in Arizona, US… Sláinte chugat! (frequencyhop@gmail.com)
