As my newsletter readers already know, today I am doing a giveaway for a signed copy of newly-released CAESARS: The Essential Guide to Your Favourite Cocktail by Clint Pattemore. The cookbook is now available at most major bookstores, online (Amazon.ca) or at a select number of grocery stores and major retailers for $19.95.
About the Cookbook
This cookbook is “filled with over 50 unique thirst-quenching recipes for Caesar variations and 20 delicious food recipes to pair with them by Top Chef Alumni Connie DeSousa and Charcut Roast House co-owner Chef John Jackson.”
The Problem?
I am not a Caesars fan at all but when I heard there were also “food recipes” I said yes to the giveaway. I loved the idea of cooking with Motts Clamato and thought there would be recipes for mussels, paella, soups… but nope! None of them do. They are just “20 easy yet inspiring food recipes to accompany” the drinks. Bummer.
The Good News?
This is a stunning cookbook for those who DO enjoy Caesars. The photography is stunning, the drink recipes are wild and creative and make me really, REALLY wish I liked Caesars damn it!
A Peak Inside
Here is an example of one of the recipes, it is for BBQ Corn Caesar and includes ingredients like jalapeño hot sauce and liquid smoke with whisky. Like I said, wild! Lobster Caesar, Fireworks Caesar, Bacon-ato Caesar… seriously cool drink ideas.

Hail Caesar!! I love caesars but they usually don’t love me because of the msg in the clamato. Luckily, President’s Choice makes a msg free version. Would love this book! Oh… and WOOD colour! lol
