Cookbook Giveaway! Delicious Flavors by Victoria Amory

August 16, 2010 by Suzie the Foodie 25 Comments

Delicious Flavours by Victoria Armory

Contest is now closed! Winner will be announced soon!

Victoria Amory‘s journey from a tiny kitchen to a real kitchen inspiring her passion for food is one I can relate to. Since then she has written about food and entertaining over the years and came out with her first cookbook Delicious! in 2009.

Delicious Flavors is her second book and being so gracious, Victoria has given me two copies of her book to give away. To enter leave a comment on this post and if you do not have a profile or a blog that I can use to contact you, leave your email address. Those who do not will be disqualified. Contest ends Wednesday.

“My cooking is simple, easy and full of flavor.”

These are challenging words for a skeptical picky foodie like me. I find simple and easy usually means dull and boring. Last week I worked on several of Victoria’s recipes and I am happy to say she really delivers on ease and flavour.

Tinto de Verano

“Everyday cooking is just as important and now more than ever. When budgets are tight and emotions at the edge, cooking is comforting and nourishing, it is a way for caring for those we love.”

Victoria has given me permission to share some of her recipes with you and the drink photographed above is Tinto de Verano. As someone who rarely drinks, the idea of throwing a party overwhelms me when it comes to what to serve for beverages. A drink made with equal parts wine (red or white) and lemon-lime soda with some fresh lime juice is a drink even I can make with what I have on-hand. No breaking the bank to fill up my liquor cabinet with obscure alcohol I probably will never use again. Already I feel more confident at the idea of throwing a party thanks to this cookbook.

There will be more recipes from Delicious Flavors to come over the next few days. For now, let’s get this party started. Contest begins right now!

I’m a big fan of anything involving lime and that seems fantastically easy. Even if I don’t win the book, I still have a consolation recipe!

Victoria Amory is not a name I’m familiar with, though judging by the few recipes you’ve shown it’s one I should be. Unique treatments, I’ll look forward to seeing more.
