Foodie Club: Let’s make cookies!

Agave Hazelnut Butter Cookies

As Tori mentioned the other day and on her blog, it is starting to warm up out there so before it gets crazy hot, why don’t we make cookies this week?

This week I will go over the basics of making cookies and I hope you join me! For some ideas, you can check out the cookie recipes at The Food Network‘s site. They have over 2000 to choose from! This site has some pretty darn pretty gluten-free cookies to check out for those on a gluten-free diet. There is even a heart-healthy chocolate chip cookie recipe out there!

For more traditional and completely homemade full of fat and sugar recipes that are sinfully divine, I turn to the baking queen, Martha Stewart. You can look through her HUGE cookie catalogue here.

If you would like to follow me and my tutorial exactly, I will be making a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe from Martha’s site. It is loaded with sugar and fat but wow, I bet they are going to be delicious. It looks like it is going to make a lot of batter so I may freeze half a batch for days I just don’t feel like making cookies from scratch.

I hope you join me in the cookie challenge! You can make whatever you want. Just post it on your blog and then add the direct link to that exact post on my site a week from today, Monday May 4th.

Let’s get baking! You do can this! I’ll show you how.

For those looking for more gluten-free cooking, I recommend the Gluten Free Goddess. She’s also mostly dairy free and often corn free, and gives substitutions that can work for various allergies/sensitivities. I don’t need the substitutions at all, but I have friends who do, so I like to keep up on what’s current. Plus, a lot of her stuff looks healthier than what you’ll find other places.

I’ll try to make some cookies this week, Suzie! I’d love to bake with you. 🙂

Macaroons?! Yummy! I can’t wait to see you make them Tori.

Brandi, if I could share them with you somehow, I totally would.
