Looooooooong Weekend Recipes!

May 19, 2012 by Suzie the Foodie 4 Comments

This week I filled up the shopping cart with goodies for the long weekend so I could avoid the craziness of the grocery store. Sadly I forgot celery and carrots! How on earth could I have done that? So it will be back to the store I go but I wanted to share some of my favourite long weekend recipes with you.
BTW yes, that is pop in my cart. Reg has a brutal long weekend ahead so I got it for him as a treat!

The Neelys' Grandma Jean's Potato Salad

My favourite and totally classic potato salad. This is the guilty pleasure style of potato salad that you secretly look forward to at every family get together. I totally have to make it this weekend!

President's Choice Sliders

I indulged by picking up The PC Angus Sliders – Mini Angus Beef Burgers but I got the Blue Menu version to lighten things up. A quick and easy dinner for one night this weekend but what really makes this dinner is…

Corn Relish

… my corn relish. It is just not the same without it! So glad I have some in the freezer.

My perfect steak dinner

You can try out my perfect steak and my perfect baked potato tutorials. I love a super-seasoned steak and a crunchy baked potato that is all soft and fluffy inside.

Fiddleheads

It is fiddleheads season! Recently I have been par-boiling them and then roasting them in the oven with shallots, garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper. Wonderful!

Green Tea Lemonade

One of my favourite treats for the warm weather is drinking my slow-cold-brewed Green Tea Lemonade. I make this all summer long!

Hope that gives you some foodie ideas and have a fantastic long holiday weekend everyone!
