I was so excited to try the PC Black Label Ravioli Grandi Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Filled Egg Pasta from the PC Insiders Collection. I do not think there is anything I enjoy more than fresh pasta so this was right up my foodie alley.
The Product
One of the things I love about PC’s Black Label products is I get to try foods I have never had before. This time it was burrata, a soft cheese made with cream.
These ravioli are HUGE! You get around 8 pieces and they are filled with burrata and heirloom tomatoes.
I have no idea how many raviolis it would take to make a cup but just to give you some idea of scale…
I do have tiny hands but these raviolis are truly huge. So exciting and I adore egg pasta!
I cooked the entire package in salted boiling water for only 4 minutes.
While the pasta was cooking I added some olive oil and butter to a medium hot frying pan. Then I added half a finely chopped anchovy and a sprinkle of finely chopped garlic and toasted until just fragrant. Then I tossed in the cooked ravioli.
This was going to be my entire lunch so I finished it off with a pat of butter and…
Freshly ground Parmesan of course!
Foodie Results
Divine! Super creamy filling and lovely tender pasta. I wish there was more tomato flavour though, I would have preferred sundried tomatoes for that additional boom to boost the taste even higher.
I melted with every bite. I am so glad I added some anchovy to the oil because it gives this lovely umami flavour without being fishy. Otherwise, it might have been a little too subtle a dish for me.
Regardless, I was in pasta heaven and soon fell into a carb-induced coma after consuming this big bowl of pasta. It was worth every bite.
I give this product four and a half out of five wooden spoons.
I’m so jealous. It sounds delicious. Tonight is vegan butternut squash ravioli with caramelized onion and asparagus. Corn and avocado salad.
Oh that sounds delicious too Hi-D! Nicely done. 🙂 You almost make me wish I was vegan, LOL. Almost!
I love the little pretty ends.
Nice attention to detail, isn’t it?
