Peter & Pat’s Pierogies Launch in Canada

March 22, 2017 by Suzie the Foodie 22 Comments

Peter & Pat’s Pierogies Launch in Canada

I LOVE pierogies but then you probably already knew that about me, LOL. They were the first thing I learned how to cook when I moved out on my own and I love having them on the weekend.

I was pretty excited to hear that Peter & Pat’s Pierogies have launched in Costco locations across Canada. Peter & Pat use a 60-year-old family recipe made with 100% real potato and 100% natural ingredients. They are a big seller in the U.S. and now you can get them in Canada!

The Product

They were delivered to my door on dry ice (you can see the video here) and look at them! They are so pretty!

These are Peter & Pat’s famous Potato, Bacon and Cheddar Cheese pierogies made with 100% real mashed potato filling mixed with 100% real bacon and 100% premium yellow cheddar cheese and seasonings.

I did not realize they had bacon in them, sorry Reg! He actually could taste the smokiness right away. My bad…

The Cooking

I partially thaw mine in the microwave (I know, foodie blasphemy!) and then pan fry them with some MSG-free seasoning and tons of black pepper. I do this for pierogies all the time and wanted to see how they compared with the regular no-name ones I get. Delicious.

The Eating

So tender! Soft and fluffy inside. Super flavourful… We both LOVED these pierogies. They are much better than the kind I usually buy. I can see why so many people love them.

Foodie Conclusion

Peter & Pat’s Pierogies Launch in Canada

If you do not have time to make your own pierogies but want that homemade flavour and texture, get Peter & Pat’s Potato, Bacon and Cheddar Cheese pierogies at Costco. You will not be sorry.

I honestly can not find anything wrong with them at all. I just want more. As a result, I give this product a rare five out of five wooden spoons. Bravo Peter & Pat!

You are welcome! I hadn’t either. I have a feeling they’re quite popular and well known in the U.S.

I see these are precooked so the usual splitting open of some of the pierogies (why am I getting a spell alert here ?) , which happens to me when I cook most of the ones you get in the store , seems to be avoided. Can you pan fry them after , I love that crunch ?
I’m not liable to run out and get a Costco Membership to but these , but when I visit the kids in P.G. this summer may give them a whirl . Thanks for the review

I heard back from their PR company and this is what they wrote:

“They only do roadshows so the schedules are actually up on our FB page in the “Menu” section. https://www.facebook.com/PeterandPatsPierogies/”

        I hope that helps!!!

They are being sold at Costco across Canada Evelyn so there is a good chance if you can get to one in Ontario, they will have them.

Peter, I haven’t heard from the company in Canada since I did this story a while ago. They were being sold in Canadian Costco’s but if you haven’t seen them there, we might be out of luck now.

Please come to Canada. They are the best. They even compare with my Polish mother-in-laws. Hope they will become a regular item at Costco.

Wow, that is saying a lot Mary! Apparently they are on tour this summer all over the place with some stops in Canada via Costco. Check out their FB page, they have a graphic with their tour dates: https://www.facebook.com/PeterandPatsPierogies/photos/a.1683705071706055.1073741829.530916803651560/1683705125039383/?type=3&theater

Oh no way!!! I heard they were at Costco right now Larysa and am planning a trip out there to get some. I will let you know if the quality has gone downhill from when I had them originally. I hope not and am sorry to hear you didn’t like the ones you got!

Hey Carolyne! Sadly they seem to only be available sporadically and getting in touch with them isn’t easy. They used to put their schedule for Costco up on FB so I would keep an eye on their page.
