PC Chorizo Mac & Cheese was another product that was in my recent PC Mystery Bag and it sounded fantastic!
The Product
I looked at the product and said, “Wait! I thought this was mac & cheese. Where is the mac? Those are pasta shells!”
The Cooking
After I came back from the flea market on the weekend I thought this would be the perfect little foodie pick-me-up to come home to. I was hungry and wanted to eat ASAP so I lifted up the corners of the film and put it in the microwave which I NEVER use for cooking.
I served it in a pretty dish and got to tasting. In some ways, I totally “get” this product. They got that nacho flavour in there with the jalapeño cheddar sauce but it was quite soupy. The sauce was very thin and absolutely disappointing.
Foodie Conclusion
Perhaps this would have been a lot better if I had cooked it in the oven and the sauce would not have been thin but people who buy these kinds or products are looking for a fast meal. Considering there is 20 grams of fat in this one little tray, I had higher expectations for the dish. If I am going to eat that much fat the sauce better be rich and creamy. It wasn’t. What a total bummer.
President’s Choice Chorizo Mac & Cheese was a big disappointment. I was willing to overlook the fact that there was no actual macaroni in this dish but the thinness of the sauce just turned me off. I like what they were trying for but the execution was disappointing. I give this product two and a half out of five wooden spoons.
Debra She Who Seeks says
I don’t like meat of any description in mac ‘n cheese. And especially not chorizo sausage, which I don’t care for.

Oh that’s interesting! Well then this is NOT the product for you Debra! On many levels.
