I am totally loving Gusto TV. I am learning so much, especially thanks to Martha Stewart’s Cooking School. During one of the classes I discovered that the original Alfredo sauce is so simple to make, you will not believe it!
I am currently product testing Duso’s bacon and cheddar tortellini and thought it would be a perfect match with Martha’s simple but decadent Alfredo sauce.
The Recipe
I was making enough for a large bowl of pasta so… Here is the recipe: 50% butter and 50% freshly grated Parmesan and…
A little of the pasta water.
Yes, that is it! Cook your pasta in salted water, reserve some of the water, mix the 50/50 butter and Parm together…
Put the pasta back into the pot (I also added some fresh spinach), add the butter/Parm mixture and some of the pasta water (1-2 tbsp). Mix together. I also put the lid back on to help the spinach wilt a little.

So delicious! A decadent heart-stopper and so easy, I could not believe it.
A recipe like this is downright dangerous and so very worth it. This tortellini made it all the more delicious with its cheddar and bacon filling. OMG!
I can see why this cooking formula has been around for decades! Thanks Martha and Gusto TV! #ilovelearning

Got to be the simplist Alfredo Recipe I’ve ever seen . Might be more dangerous than decadent because it’s so easy to do , Luckily Butter and Parmesan are Health Canada Approved Food Groups LOL !!!!

Martha said this is the ORIGINAL Alfredo recipe! Can you believe it’s so easy and I hope you’re right about the approved food groups. I threw in some spinach so it wasn’t too decadent.
