A little while ago I received a mystery box at my door. It said:
Considering I had no idea what was in the box, just that it was sent to me by Shes Connected, I had no expectations!
Inside was this stunning promo pack for Molson Canadian 67 Tangerine Twist light beer with only 67 calories and a “splash of tangerine flavour”.
Two stunning tall beer glasses and two bottles of 67 Tangerine Twist.
There were also lots of party favours to celebrate summer, all tangerine in colour. Sweet!
I am not a big beer drinker but I do love beer-battered fish so I used the Tangerine Twist Beer in my Perfect Battered Fish recipe.
Man, did the batter go CRAZY! I had to add water to it and stir it right before coating the fish to calm it down.
Foodie Results & Taste Test
The fish was awesome! I could not taste and beer or the tangerine but it was delicious. Crispy, flavourful… So good!
As I was making the fish I did drink some of the beer too. It immediately reminded me of my dad in the backyard barbecuing and enjoying a nice cold one. Nobody barbecues chicken like dad does, the best I have ever had.
So there I was frying up fish, tentatively chugging beer. As I said, I am not a huge fan but I could not NOT drink it. I was surprised. It does taste like beer but the light tangerine flavour is not only appealing, it completely removes the aftertaste of the beer. Which I hate! So yay! I got to enjoy some beer with a little fruity flavour without having beer breath afterwards. Awesome job Molson Canadian!

I’m not a beer drinker so haven’t tried Molson 67 but I really like how they got it down to 67 calories so the name could simultaneously reflect the calorie count AND pay homage to (18)67 the year of Confederation!

Oh that’s so true, LOL, how patriotic Debra!

I don’t drink at all, but am curious to cook and bake with a few things. I hate the taste and smell of beer, and all that stuff, but I am told that that part, bakes off or cooks away.

I always want to save some for making chili, I heard it’s great in it. I did not taste the beer at all in the fish but it got so nice and crispy so beer is pretty good at least for cooking with. Should try baking with it too!
