Visiting at the Duke of York

Visiting at the Duke of York

The main reason I chose to meet with friends at the famous Duke of York pub (39 Prince Arthur Avenue) is my sister Shannon recommended it. I am so glad she did! Located in central downtown Toronto, it is super easy to get to by TTC . If the TTC is running!

This visit was supposed to be me doing reconnaissance for another visit with friends but it ended up being a one-time visit thanks to the TTC shutting down over the next weekend.

Which is a shame because this is a gorgeous pub!

It is huge with lots of little nooks and crannies and tons of character.

Perfect for my visit with Lisa who I went to public school and junior high with and…

Zorica, my high school friend and volleyball teammate! I had invited a lot of other gal pals but life and family intervene. We still had a great little visit together.

When I saw Trio of Pork Pulled Yorkies for just $10.99 on the menu, I knew that is what I would be having. Yorkshire pudding at a pub?! Yes please!

Zorika got the breakfast tacos which were good but man were they messy!

Lisa ordered a beautiful large bacon Caesar salad that came with a lovely Grana Padang crisp!

Absolutely delicious! Nothing like living on meat and carbs, catching up on the last few years of life together.

Thank you Lisa and Zorica for coming out to visit with me!

The day started dark and rainy but by the time we left the sun came out and kept me company the remainder of my visit in Toronto.

The Duke of York is a special place to get together. It has wonderful atmosphere, fantastic service and the food is great. I am so glad I got to visit this icon of Toronto that I had heard so much about. Thanks for the recommendation Shannon! It was perfect.
