And Product Review of PC Bacon Flavour Tomato Clam Cocktail
So I made the most delicious shrimp risotto with PC Bacon Flavour Tomato Clam Cocktail. How on earth was I going to take product testing to the next level? Take the leftover risotto and make Arancini/risotto balls with it. And more… This recipe makes 6 large Arancini.
Recipe
You will need 3 cups cold risotto, 1 egg, 1 cup breadcrumbs, 6 large cubes old cheddar, vegetable oil and 1 tbsp butter.
Mix risotto with egg and breadcrumbs. Form a large ball of risotto. Indent and put a cube of cheese. Top with more risotto. Close. Roll in breadcrumbs.
Heat frying pan over medium high heat. Add veggie oil and butter. Brown balls on all sides and then finish in a preheated 325F oven for 10 minutes.
They will come out golden brown with… Wait for it…
Beautiful melted cheese on the inside! I thought the risotto was delicious before? This was even yummier! I could not believe it.
Sauce
I used up the last of the PC Bacon Flavour Tomato Clam Cocktail to make an accompanying sauce to see how the flavours worked there as well. Pretty damn impressive.
Product Review
I am definitely not the target market for PC Bacon Flavour Tomato Clam Cocktail but I did my best to put it through my test kitchen to see how the flavours stacked up and I have to say, it is pretty damn impressive. Savoury, seafood-y and even a tad bacon-y… I could not taste those individual flavours in the dishes I made but they came together gorgeously. So much so that if I ever make a seafood risotto again I would PREFER to use this product.
If you like Caesars, do yourself a favour and pick up this Canadian-inspired cocktail for that classic Canadian drink this summer. If you like the idea of adding bacon to that beverage, buy it.
