So exciting! The Loblaw spring line and Insiders Collection arrived hand-delivered at my door the other day.

And even a hand-written letter from the PC Team.

Here is a little video that shares more about the Bialys’ background and tells you how to pronounce it, something Reg and I found quite a little challenge.

I had to start with their Brooklyn Bialys because… I had no idea what the heck it was! This was a totally new foodie entity for me.

Part bagel, part English Muffin, this sensational bialy is formed with a depression in the middle and topped with minced onion. It’s baked until slightly puffed and crusty with chewy pockets. Originating in Bialystok, Poland before gaining near cult-status popularity in New York City, it’s tasty at breakfast or anytime of day as is, or spread with a little butter or cream cheese.

Here is a little video about the history of the Bialys!

The cool part about the English muffin/bagel combo is that there is a solid bottom but still a hole on top. Perfect for making my breakfast sandwiches.

There was some minced onion in the middle there but less than what I was expecting from the description.

The convenience of making a breakfast sandwich without everything falling through the bottom was amazing. We loved the taste and the texture, a total winner.

The only thing is the lack of onion flavour. I really did not taste it. Not like when I use an “everything” bagel for this weekend treat.

As a result, I give this product four out of five wooden spoons. A very cool idea. I can not wait to have more!

I’ve never heard of these before but they sound good! Now I’m off to watch that video and find out how the heck “bialys” is pronounced.
