I sort of went to town with the hummus and bought a few of their other dips to play around with in my kitchen as well. Above is their garlic hummus that I had with the spinach and basil roti I made. Delicious! Nice and smooth, wonderful creamy texture.
I had some ground turkey that I seasoned and added some hummus to before turning it into patties and grilling it up. I made homemade hamburger buns, adding some more hummus on the bottom and topped the patty with tzatziki and my bread and butter pickles. Very tasty!
Nope, I didn’t stop there. A twitter friend suggested hummus devilled eggs which I found completely intriguing! Just adding hummus to the yolks made them a little too strong so I smoothed out the bold flavour with some sour cream. I sprinkled the eggs with some hot smoked paprika for colour and additional zing. Fabulous! I love updating a classic like devilled eggs.
I think this must be the same Artichoke and Asiago Dip that Reg and I used to buy out in BC way back when, just different packaging because the flavour was identical. Which we LOVE! I remember getting a free sample at IGA about ten years ago and we bought it regularly after that.
This is a super strong dip that is completely addicting. You will be left with dragon breath but man, it is so totally worth it. So glad we can get it here although but talk about dangerous! Sixteen grams of fat in 2 tbsp. This is a party treat to be enjoyed once in a while, not every day. I love that the ingredients are so simple: mayonnaise, artichokes, asiago cheese, garlic, sea salt and spices. That’s it!
Last but definitely not least I tried their Eggplant & Olive Hummus and wow, if you are an olive lover like I am, this is a special hummus. The olive flavour is strong so it tastes similar to tapenade which I adore! I bought this artisan olive bread to go with it and was in heaven.
The ingredients for this dip were very “normal” too: chickpeas, tahini, eggplant, kalamata olives, olive oil, canola oil, red pepper, lemon juice, garlic, sea salt, jalapeno, sugar, spices and parsley. No hidden additives as far as I can see and this one is just 3.5 grams of fat in 2 tbsp which is good. I ate a lot of it!
I was very impressed with Summer Fresh‘s products. If you like bold flavours when it comes to dips like I do, these will be fantastic for the coming long weekend festivities and they had so many different products available! You know I love making my own dips but if you are looking to save some time getting ready for that party, I highly recommend picking some of these up. If you prefer more subtle flavours though, these might not be the products for you.
For me? They are close to perfection! I give these products four and a half out of five wooden spoons.

Yes, someone brought that artichoke and asiago dip to my drumming circle last month (we have a little nosh afterwards with finger foods etc.) It IS delicious but so sinfully high in fat, as you noted.

I’ve tried many of the Summer Fresh dips in the past and they are definitely super quality and fabulous tasting. But now I gotta try that Eggplant/Olive Hummus, I know that is a flavour combination I would absolutely love!
All your photos are stunning BTW, you really dressed up the dips beautifully and the photos make me want to try them all, especially the eggs….so yummmmm!

I remember trying a Summer Fresh hummus a few years ago and not liking it, so I went back to the PC brand. Then recently husband picked up the Roasted Red Pepper dip which we loved, then I tried that Artichoke & Asiago dip (you are right – dangerous!) and then I bought an Eggplant hummus – may be the same on you mention – and quite liked it. They definitely have some yummy choices now!

I’ve tried some of these before and I like them. No matter how many times I try, my dips never taste as good.
