Let me begin by saying I almost did not write this post. You see I like Burger’s Priest. My friend Michelle and I both really REALLY like Burger’s Priest. So much so the last time I went there was after I fell down the stairs and showed up in my leg brace. That’s the heaven I choose after that hell.
So when we were in the mood for burgers we went to the new Burger’s Priest location at 212 King Street South in Waterloo.
There were so many items on their website that were not listed on the board when we went in. Due to Covid times and wanting to get the hell out of there as quickly as possible, I decided to go modest and order just a hamburger with all the toppings.
I have always believed that you can really test the authenticity of a burger joint by ordering just a traditional burger.
Mine? Really overcooked and dry. An absolute disappointment.
Michelle’s Vatican City looked fantastic but she said that her toppings were a little under seasoned.
I thought for sure that the caramelized onion-slathered fries would make up for it but the various bites that I had were lacking in salt and Michelle’s bite was a salt lick in one spot.
Now I know that cooking with masks on must be absolutely impossible right now for chefs and my heart goes out to them. That said, this was very disappointing. The seasoning was so off and my burger was actually crunchy, it was so overcooked.
I hope that you will quickly work through the kinks of running your new location and then maybe I will be back but until then, I would prefer to go to Harveys or A&W. At least their burgers are always moist and crunch-free.

There’s a Burger’s Priest just down the street from me here in Edmonton. I adore the single patty cheeseburger with ketchup, mustard and sauteed onions. I have it every single time, LOL! But it’s been a year now since I’ve had one. Thanks, Covid-19.

I am so glad yours is a good one! Hopefully this one will get better in time. Yeah, bloody Covid.

I have a very good Burger’s Priest a five minute walk away from my house here on Hamilton Mountain but we’ve really cut back on eating out or even getting take-out for the last year. May have to give Burger’s Priest a try again, though – quality control check … you understand …
Suzie the Foodie says
Of course Sylvia! Gotta go back and have it again in the name of quality control.

I am sorry to hear about an unsatisfactory experience at a new place. Understanding the challenges chefs face, especially with current safety measures, it’s disappointing when culinary expectations aren’t met. The caramelized onion fries sounded promising, but the lack of seasoning left a lot to be desired, especially with the overcooked burger.
