Happy Valentine’s Day!

Chocolate Treats for Valentine's Day

For me, Valentine’s Day is a day off in the kitchen but for those of you wanting to bake a treat for the day of romance, nothing says I love you more than chocolate. I personally am taking a holiday today but have put together some treat ideas for all my foodie friends for Valentine’s Day.

Have fune baking while I enjoy hanging out with my honey!

If your sweetie likes candy, why not make it yourself? This Chocolate Brittle is awesome!

Perhaps your honey prefers chocolate and coffee? Martha’s Mocha Custards are delicious!

Want to limit carbs but not chocolatey goodness? Make Nigella’s Chocolate Cloud Cake, it is flourless!

Have some time to make a brownies for the marshmallow lover? Try these Chocolate Marshmallow Brownies.

If your sweetheart loves Skor chocolate bar, why not make her one from scratch? This Chocolate Brittle Surprise tastes just like it!

If you have time to make a cheesecake, you won’t be disappointed with this Cappuccino Cheesecake. One of our favourites!

This Chocolate Orange Holiday Cake can easily be adapted. If you have extracts like strawberry or raspberry, along with some red food colouring, you could make it all red and fabulous! Or slather it with chocolate frosting and cover the cake with fresh raspberries.

Taste of Home's Orange Chocolate Meltaways

And if you really want to make something special, make some homemade and handmade truffles flavoured the way your Valentine would love them: coconut, Irish Cream, hazelnut… Truffles are a little time consuming and messy but something your sweetie will devour and love that you made just for them.

What is more special a gift than a chocolate treat you made yourself just for your loved one on Valentine’s Day?

Now that is an adorable and lovely idea Debra! I am making pancakes tomorrow too, I wonder how you make them heart-shaped? Hopefully that is the only food I am making tomorrow but I know it’ll cheer up my guy.

Enjoy your day with hubby! My hubby is not so much into chocolate treats, but that won’t stop me from making something decadent for the kids and me….mmmm thinking brownies.

I bought 2 large brass heart-shaped cookie cutters. I’m going to spray them with Pam, put them in the pan and fill with batter. Hopefully, they’ll come off easy when it’s time to flip. We’ll see! Wish me luck!

Happy Valentine’s Day to you too Priya’s Feast! Oh yes Ava, made chocolate for you and the little ones. Nice! Debra, let us know how those cookie cutters work out for the pancakes. If they stick or are too difficult, you can always make the pancake and then cut out the shape. Hope your approach works though, very cool!
