I was excited to try Prana Coconut Strips which you can tell from my unboxing video.
Inside I found the dry roasted coconut chips Jive (Spicy Chili), Charleston (BBQ) and Hula (Sea Salt and Pepper).
Automatically, the sweetness of the coconut made it a little challenging for me to enjoy the additionally savouriness of the flavours.
The sea salt and pepper did not really add very much in the way of flavour.
The BBQ hickory smoke flavour was quite good but with the sweetness of the coconut did not really go together.
Out of the three, Jive’s spicy chili worked the best. The heat juxtaposed with the natural coolness of the coconut very well but it was still… weird. And normally I love weird.
I brought them all to D&D last night and only one friend dared to try them and he said, “They’re… interesting…” Reg flat out did not like them. Most people were not interested in them at all.
I think if you are looking for a healthier choice of snack and love coconut, you will probably like and appreciate this product. I am personally going to finish off the Jive ones on my own and use the other two for cooking. Think I will add them to my coconut rice as a garnish or whizz them up in my food processor to make a coconut breading for chicken.
Prana also sent me their black chia seeds which I have no idea what to do with so please, if you have some ideas, let me know!
Thanks Prana! Wish these had been more of a hit. I give Charleston and Hula three out of five wooden spoons and Jive four out of five. Think these will be a big hit with the uber-healthy-foodies out there but with regular folk? Not so much.

Chia seeds are awesome!! You could add them to your smoothies, make pudding, use them as an egg substitute. I put them in overnight oatmeal too.

Smoothies eh? It will be weird to have black flecks in them but I’m game, thanks Julie!
