Chocolate Strawberry Paninis

Strawberry Panini

I am always trying to come up with new ways to use my bread and this week I have a whole loaf of my Craisin Bread sitting there saying, Suzie, do something creative with me! I love working with foods that are in season and I am kind of absolutely crazy about fruit, especially berries, so I thought, how about a fruit panini?

A few years ago I had made a panini using angel food cake, Nutella and strawberries and it was so ridiculously yummy that I make crepes with the same filling on a regular basis. Why not make a panini but using my Craisin bread? Genius!

I sliced two fairly thin slices, put Nutella on one side and topped it with thinly sliced strawberries. I very lightly buttered the outside of the sandwich and then put it on my grill. You could fry this up instead if you do not have a grill.

Of course you could use different bread and fruit! Nutella and bananas would be crazy yummy, I wonder if I would like it with Nutella and apricots? You could always go with peanut butter instead but I am a Nutella woman. Bring on the hazelnuts and chocolate!

Paninis are delicious and dessert paninis? They are out of this world!

The world would have judged Elvis differently if he had lived on peanut butter and banana paninis instead of fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches.
